iPulp started as a response to the growing reading
achievement gap between girls and boys. We believed
part of the problem is that schools don’t present
the types of material boys, particularly reluctant
readers, would enjoy. We thought that reluctant
readers wouldn't be "scared
off" by a short story as they might be with a lengthy
novel. We also wanted to serve as a bridge between comics
and book-length fiction. So, we began to provide quality,
low-cost stories targeting the young male reader. Our
efforts were cited by Mark Bauerline in the Chronicle

Since then, iPulp has evolved into a browser-based publisher
of short genre fiction for readers of all ages and both
genders.
Set Up Student Accounts
The stories displayed
in the iPulp Bookstore and in your Personal Library
is determined by the age of the person logged in. So,
it is important that you create user accounts appropriate
for the ages of your students.
You can add up to four additional accounts to your library.
 First, log into your account. this wioll take you to
the Bookstore. Click the green ADMIN SCREEN
button to the right of the shelf. The administration
screen is where you will find the USER LOGINS panel.
Click the ADD A USER button.
For classroom use, set up generic accounts such as MG Boys, MG Girls, YA Boys, or
YA girls.

What
is iPulp?
 In the past, DIME
NOVELS and other forms
of PULP
FICTION influenced
generations of writers of genre fiction such as Ray
Bradbury, Raymond
Chandler, and H. P. Lovecraft. It was a time
when kids carried dime novels folded in their hip pockets
or nestled out-of-sight in their schoolbooks.
Today, the pulps are mostly gone, and short story writing
is a dying art. iPulpFiction.com wants to reinvigorate
the genre short story market and inspire new generations
of writers by taking pulp fiction to the mobile generation—to
be hidden among their digital textbooks on their tablet
computers and on smart phones tucked in their hip pockets.

& Privacy). iPulp
does not sell eBooks. iPulp is an integrated publisher
and distributor of SHORT STORIES, GRAPHIC NOVELS,
and the occasional SERIALIZED NOVEL for reading
online. iPulp
publishes original stories and exclusive reprints by award-winning
and best-selling authors as well as exciting new talent.

Accessible
iPulp does not require special hardware or applications.
You can access iPulp's full functionality on your desktop
computer, laptop, netbook,
or tablet, such as
an iPad.
You can also read iPulp stories in your personal
library on many devices that have a modern browser, such
as smart
phones. and touch screen iPods.

Friendly
 iPulp
libraries are de-signed to be shared by families.
The content displayed in the iPulp store and in the account’s
library is filtered by the age of the user currently logged
in, providing only age-appropriate titles to the reader.
Library account holders can add up to 4 other users to
their library.
 Also,
the iPulp store uses tokens for the acquisition of titles,
not credit card trans-actions. The account administrator
uses a credit card to buy stacks of tokens for the entire
family from the Account Administration screen. The administrator
can then grant minor users the privilege to safely spend
tokens in the iPulp store. If a user does not have the right
to spend tokens, he/she can add stories to a “Wish
List” that is sent to the account administrator, who
can then acquire or decline the stories directly from the
administration screen. |

of your works. iPulp reprint authors include: Ben Bova,
Bruce Coville, Bill Crider, Ed Groman, and J. A. Jance,
among others. If accepted for publication, your stories
will never be out of print on iPulpFiction.com.
Your query should include the titles
you'd like to include and the original publication citatation
for each story. Series should be grouped by genre or
around a theme.
New Talent Program
We
no longer accept unlolicited sumbissions. iPulp will only accept manuscripts from
new writers submitted by established literary agents
at: referral

Provided
iPulp does not
sell eBooks. No eBook reader
software is required. iPulp accounts are free. Account
Holders may add up to four additional readers to their account
and assign token purchasing and/or story acquisition rights
to those readers. iPulp reserves the right to limit the number
of devices that can access an account.
iPulp is an online reading
service. No files are delivered to or are owned by
readers. When readers acquire a story from the bookstore,
they are not purchasing a file for download to their person
device. Readers are acquiring the right
to read that
story whenever they like for as long as their account is
acitve.
Readers
must be connected to the Web to browse the bookstore,
access their personal libraries, and read stories. Offline
reading is not a function provided by iPulpFiction.com. However,
it may be possible
on some devices or within certain browsers to cache a story
for offline reading. Stories cannot be printed.
Privacy
Notice
iPulp does not share information, such as user names
and e-mail addresses, with third parties. Cookies are used
to manage personal libraries and authorized devices. iPulp
uses registration data to filter age-appropriate content and
customize advertising. iPulp will only use registrant e-mails
in case of a rare, system-wide notification. Registrants must
opt-in to the iPulp "Mostly Monthly Newsletter" to
receive regular updates from iPulp. |
